The Galway Christmas Market is back – even earlier than before!
Galway city has announced that its Christmas market will return this winter, running from Friday, November 15 to Saturday, December 21, and to say that we’re excited is a major understatement!
One of Galway’s most incredible attractions, albeit temporary, is also one of the best Christmas markets across Europe.
The Galway Continental Christmas Market, which is held in Eyre Square, received over 350,000 visitors last year.
This year will feature amusement rides including a 32 metre-high Big Wheel, Helter Skelter and traditional Carousel along with live music performers, puppet shows, storytelling, school choirs and carol singing.
Santa’s Grotto will be run by local charities and the popular Bierkeller will be playing host to various events throughout the market’s duration. Food lovers can feast on bratwurst, French pastries, pretzels or confectionery, crêpes and waffles, while beer lovers can sample a stein at the German Bierkeller, offering a range of traditional German beers, apple cider and mulled wine.
The 2019 Market will also feature artisan food products and Christmas gift ideas from both local and European traders.
